What to Expect
Before your first appointment
- Your comfort and safety are my utmost priority. Always feel free to ask me anything if you have any doubts or curiosity.
- Please wear loose, comfortable clothing.
- Make sure to have a little something to eat. You do not want to have an acupuncture treatment on a completely empty stomach. With that said, don’t overdue it, a light snack will suffice.
- Prepare to spend 75-90 minutes at your initial appointment. We will cover your complete health history and information. This will insure an appropriate treatment plan catered specifically to your needs.
- Arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your first appointment in order to fill out a small amount of paperwork with your health history and personal information.
After your first appointment
- You may notice a sense of elation and overall wellness. Plan for some relaxation after each acupuncture treatment. Intense exertion or exercise is not advisable within two hours of a treatment.
- Please do not brush your tongue before treatments. Your natural tongue coating needs to be present for your practitioner to have an accurate sense of your health.
- Stay warm. Even on warmer days it is a good idea to carry a light jacket or scarf with you in order to maintain a balanced homeostasis after an acupuncture treatment.
- You may experience mild tenderness or light bruising at the sight of needle insertion. This can be normal and should resolve in a day or two.
